random thoughts….

I’ve been watching cable tv for the last 2 weeks and I tell you it gets real boring…… EyeWahhhhhh….
I am a couch potato, mind you but when they air the same shows for days in a row… its really gets to your nerves.. That is why I end up channel surfing.. Or I end up sleeping again.. Hahaha.. It actually is nice not to have work (for a while that is..), the perks are all there!! You can do whatever you want, whenever you want to and no one has to dictate what you do with your time. (well, maybe except my mom who occasionally asks me to cook meals or wash the dishes..) but other than that, I am the master or my time and it kicks ass!!! Hahahaha!! (Am I allowed to say that here, no censorships, right?) This is after all my blog and my rules apply….. but I know my limits…..

I am at SM right now, waiting for my beloved soulmate to get off work and that won’t be until 3 hours or so from now….. (can you imagine the agony of waiting???) But then, all for love right?? Ahhhh… amour, amour, amour… can I get any mushier than this?? Hehehe…To kill some time, I planned to check out my emails if I have any friends who actually miss me, look at my friendster account to see whose been stalking me (hehe, assuming!!), and look for scary and psycho chatmates…. (that should be an easy task considering the many psyhos there are in cyberworld…) But nah, I changed my mind….. I don’t need any psychos today, one is enough!! (Who? Why me ofcourse!! Hahahahaha)

Anyway, I was talking about cable tv right and how it gets really boring when you watch it 24/7….. Hmmmm…. I totally lost track of what I was going to say… hehehe.. typical!! So typical of me, would you believe I have entries in my diary/personal notebook/confession room/panic room/punching bag that have remained unfinished just because I can’t talk about the topic I wrote about first… I just jump to a different topic at once, before even finishing what I just started…. And that not only holds true for my diary, it holds true for most of the decisions I’ve made in my life… its like I can never focus on just one thing at once… (you probably noticed that from this blog entry already..) I have multitudes of things that I want to do all the same time… weird huh?? But then, WEIRD is my middle name… (go and ask Wendy and Gay and they’ll readily approve.. they know me all too well! Hehehehe…)

Hmmm, I actually miss them “guys” (and I tell you the term guys is very appropriately coined here….) Wendy is still with 88th while Gay is with Etelecare and me??? Secret!! But hey, I am earning money, just in case you think I am just being a bum and letting my parents spend for me… I have work! And things are looking ok from my side of the fence right now, so I have no complaints!!! I am even earning extra bucks every now and then cuz I sell loads too!!! (By the way, whoever needs load, prepaid cards for all 3 major networks, autoload, eload, internet prepaid cards, landline prepaid cards and stuff like that, I am the man to look for!!! Hehehe.. sales pitch jud noh!!! Kevs!!! Way utang ha, bayad dretso, way amigahay!!!)

Wow, I’ve actually killed I think half an hour already just checking my emails and writing this blog entry down… COOL!!! I’ll probably be out of the café early to just wait over the Harbor for Itoy… and maybe sleep while waiting…. Which is by the way, one f the best perks of not having a job, you can sleep all you want!!! I know I needed it anyway, I was barely getting 3 hours of sleep while I was working so my body definitely needed all the rest it can get… besides when I start working full-swing again, I know sleep would not be a priority, especially cux by that time, I would have so much in my head that I probably wont even be able to sleep…. (my this sentence is really long, isn’t it?? Hmmm) There is so much going on in my head that I dream about them each time I go to sleep, even if I just dozed off for a few minutes…. Hey, do all of you people dream?? Cuz I do, ALWAYS!!! Sometimes I just forget about them but I always dream….and they all seem so real!! I asked Itoy if he dreams all the time but apparently he doesn’t. I told him that probably he did but he just forgot about it but he insists that he dreams very rarely.. which I found weird… I even told him (in the most scientific explanation I can muster, that he probably woke up after he had REM (Rapid Eye Movement which one of the physical indications that one is already in the state of dreaming…) and that maybe if he had waken up while he had REM that he would remember his dreams…. And so the story goes…… blah blah blah…. The ending was, he said he was going to write down the times when he had a dream so we can calculate the percentage of him dreaming…. (very scientific huh??)

This entry is getting too long though so I have to get off the keyboard now…. I’ll probably roam around the busy halls of SM for a little eye feast and some foot exercise or I might go to National Bookstore to look at books and “paper” stuff… I just love paper!!! Or I could go and grab a Thirsty drink, my mouth is a little dry from all this writing… (Why? Because when I write, I actually say the words in my head, in fact, my mouth just smiled while I’m writing this… ) Weird again??? No, that’s just the

NORMAL

me!!!

looking thru different windows…

This was the contents of the one of the very last emails between a good friend Wendy and me before we or I left the 88th facility after almost 3 years of stay….. And I dedicate this to people who are stuck and imprisoned by their own minds…. too closed-minded to see the view from another perspective… I really wish they do….. because the view from here is exceedingly clear…. Imagine you’re in an Airport. While you’re waiting for
your flight, you notice a kiosk selling shortbread
cookies.

You buy a box, put them in your traveling bag and then
you patiently search for an available seat so you can
sit down and enjoy your cookies.

Finally you find a seat next to a gentleman. You reach
down into your traveling bag and pull out your box of
shortbread cookies.

As you do so, you notice that the gentleman starts
watching you intensely. He stares as you open the box
and his eyes follow your hand as you pick up the
cookie and bring it to your mouth. Just then he
reaches over and takes one of your cookies from the
box and eats it!

You’re more than a little surprised at this. Actually,
you’re at a loss for words. Not only does he take one
cookie, but he alternates with you.

For every one cookie you take, he takes one.

Now, what’s your immediate impression of this guy?
Crazy? Greedy? He’s got some nerve! Can you imagine
the words you might use to describe this man to your
associates back at the office? Meanwhile, you both
continue eating the cookies until there’s just one
left.

To your surprise, the man reaches over and takes it.
But then he does something unexpected. He breaks it in
half, and gives half to you.

After he’s finished with his half he gets up, and
without a word, he leaves.

You think to yourself, "Did this really happen?"
You’re left sitting there dumbfounded and still
hungry. So you go back to the kiosk and buy another
box of cookies. You then return to your seat and begin
opening your new box of cookies when you glance down
into your traveling bag.

Sitting there in your bag is your original box of
cookies — still unopened.
Only then did you realize that when you reached down
earlier, you had reached into the other man’s bag and
grabbed his box of cookies by mistake.

Now what do you think of the man? Generous? Tolerant?
You’ve just experienced a profound paradigm shift.
You’re seeing things from a new point of view.

Is it time to change your point of view?

Now, think of this story as it relates to your life.
Seeing things from a new point of view can be very
enlightening.

Think outside the box. Don’t settle for the status
quo. Be open to suggestions. Things may not be what
they seem.

Quest for Understanding

It was on the 10th of November when the hopeless-romantic me grabbed a pen and let the ink drip and drizzle on a piece of paper… This was the concoction me and pen came up with….. If anyone should find themselves relating in one way or the other to the words written, then I’ve realized my goal ~ to touch people.  (nmed)

QUEST FOR UNDERSTANDING

By: nmed

November 10, 2003

Question:         How do you stop the heart from feeling? From getting hurt, from feeling pain?

Answer:           You can’t. For it the heart stops to feel, it would lose its purpose. It would lost its very reason for existence.

Question:         If we can’t, how can we at least ease the gripping pain? How can we stop the invisible hand from clutching the heart too tight?

Answer:           Let it be. For if it weren’t for the pain you feel, you would never appreciate the joy it gives you.

Question:         Why then do we have to feel so much pain in order for us to feel joy? Can’t we just leave out the pain and feel the joy instead?

Answer:           You can never appreciate the intoxicating joys of loving if you have never felt its very opposite; its surging pains.

Question:         The heart has too many tasks to attend to, and far too many pains to suffer. For an organ with such a noble purpose, why should the heart be in such a vulnerable and delicate state? And why should it be without protection or replacement?

Answer:           If it were, men would never feel the need and importance of taking great care with their hearts. They would allow it to be stabbed, broken and hurt, and would do the same to others hearts; knowing it can easily be replaced. They would take their hearts for granted.

Now, you would not want that to happen to an organ with such a noble purpose, would you?

Question:         People say the brain should rule over the heart in all aspects of life. Is that the reason why the brain is above the heart? Should we always follow our brain, and not our hearts?

Answer:           The brain is above the heart, yes. Because it is the logic of being; it is what makes you rational and able to think things through. (Although at times, you do not apply this. J)

The heart is at the very center of your body. It was and is there because your heart is the center of your being, your very core.

Each decision your brain formulates must pass through your heart for editing, polishing, and refining. It is now up to you to choose either dictates of your brain or the callings of your heart. The brain shouts but the heart whispers, you must learn to listen well.

Question:         Why do we have so many questions about the workings of the heart, yet we can never find the answers?

Answer:           The heart has reasons which reason knows nothing of.

Experiment 101

There were times in the office when I felt like I needed to have a break.. and what I usually did (being the prober that I am..) was ask people one question and tally their answers. That has always made me less bored of the monogamy of entering orders (whew!!).. Here is one that I did and below was the data gathered during my experimentation…

Asa gikan ang abog?

  1. Atmosphere – Joan
  2. Soil (Loose) – Iya
  3. Particles exhaled by people – Ace
  4. Dead skin cells – Rickler
  5. Ang air maoy nagda sa abog – Michelle
  6. Air ( particles in the air) – JanjanZ
  7. Natural Chuva sa mga butang – Jane (ex: naay tawo nga naay gbutang nga papel nga kwarta sa alkansiya, nya after many years abog na cya..)
  8. Excess chemicals and substances – Maniac Jeoff
  9. A very big bato that exploded and broke down into bits and pieces – Marky

If everything was cemented (hypothetically-speaking), would there still be abog?

  1. Yes, because if people die, they turn into abog. (Joan)
  2. Yes, because when those cement become loose due to wear and tear, the become abog. (Iya)
  3. Yes, because air can bring the abog anywhere. (Michelle)
  4. Yes, because…. (JanJanZ)
  5. Yes, because the cement will be crushed because of friction so there will be abog (Marky)

WOW!!! You see, people are really amazing!! :0)

Disclaimer: All characters in this experiment are real, however, their names were not disclosed to protect their pride and to keep me from being sued for moral damages. Should you like to be included in the experiment to showcase your mental prowess (after reading the encyclopedia..), please add your comments, its FREE!! :0)

An interesting article: Where to begin

(I got this very interesting article online before, I thought it was nice… just wanted to put it here..)

Where to Begin?

Words: 882

January is the king of months for those looking to make new beginnings. After the reflections and indulgences of December, the excitement of a new year unfolding brings contemplation of better days ahead. Unfortunately for many, contemplation is where the party ends. As the clock ticks over into February and then unwinds into March, hopes of transformation begin to fade, the habits of old return, together with the routines of years past. Not because of a lack of enthusiasm or good intentions mind you, but rather a lack of knowing where to start.

The best place to start.

What I am going to say now may sound radical as well as a little simplistic, but the best place for you to start is from exactly where you are right now. Take some time to actually let these words sink in, as they contain the seeds of your own personal greatness.

‘If only’.

You’ve probably caught yourself contemplating at one stage or another what it would be like ‘if only’ you could start somewhere else. I know that I have felt this way at various stages in the past. The type of internal ponderings I am talking about here are things such as ‘if only I’d gone to University’, ‘if only my parents hadn’t got divorced’, ‘if only I had more experience’, then maybe, just maybe I’d have what it takes to go after my dreams.

If you find yourself engaging in this kind of dialogue, then start to build your awareness around it. Regardless of the experiences that you’ve either had to relish or endure in the past, they have given you one magical ingredient. They have prepared you for now. All your disappointments, triumphs, hopes and fears have brought you to this moment. In acknowledging and accepting them as they are, you consciously begin to reclaim your power to take control of your own life.

Know where you want to go.

Once you have accepted where you are, you have to decide where it is you want to go. If no particular course of action immediately resonates with you, then begin to more fully explore the things that you enjoy doing most. Think about what your life would be like if you spent more of your life experiencing the things that you really love. We all have the power to achieve this within us, you just have to be prepared to be open to it.

If on the other hand you’re not enjoying anything at this present time in life then it is time for you to start being a little more experimental. Begin to do things that you’ve never done before. Enroll on a photography course, strike up a conservation with someone you don’t know or go and spend some time in nature. Make sure whatever you choose to do is outside of your present comfort zone. When you continually broaden your experience of life, you create the opportunities necessary to re-ignite your passion for living.

What are you prepared to change?

To get from where you are now to where you want to go you have to go through a process of transformation. It doesn’t mean you have to change everything all at once but it does mean you have to change. Take some to time to think about what it is you are ‘prepared’ to change in order to move in the direction of your dreams. So many of us focus on what we feel we ‘should’ change. For example, if you are a smoker and for whatever reason you feel it is something you ‘should’ change, just ask yourself whether it is something you are ‘prepared’ to change. As soon as you are ‘prepared’ to change, you will find a way to give up smoking forever.

Find support.

When you are making changes in your life one of the most important things you can do is find yourself support. Support can come in many different forms. It may come in the form of an inspirational book, a workshop, a community group, an evening class, a trusted friend or family member, a work mentor, a personal trainer, a website forum or even a coach. Whatever the source, make sure that it feels comfortable for you, not just at an intellectual level but also from an intuitive level as well.

Having your essential support structures in place will give you the confidence to stride boldly in the direction of your dreams. All you have to do next is start from exactly where you are.
